I don’t want to diminish your respect for this film by starting off in saying that within the first 5 minutes, you get to see Zac Efron in his underwear, but in the hopes that mentioning it might hook you . . . I’m not above it. SYNOPSIS: A directionless young man (Zac Efron) helps his reporter brother (Matthew McConaughey) investigate the possible wrongful conviction of a man on death row (John Cusak), and in the process, falls for the woman (Nicole Kidman) whom the convict has been romancing through prison correspondence. I often speak of the trials and tribulations gay, indie film makers & artists endure when it comes to the creation and distribution of their work. It’s a constant struggle and mass hustle to get ideas out about our community, share stories about our people, and release art that engages us specifically as a people.
